Depuis plusieurs années, la réglementation cosmétique européenne ne rend plus obligatoire la mention d’une date limite d’utilisation (DLUO) sur les produits dont la stabilité est supérieure à 30 mois avant ouverture.
Dans ce cas, on indique à la place la PAO (« Période Après Ouverture »), représentée par un petit pictogramme de pot ouvert sur l’étiquette. Cela signifie que le produit peut être utilisé en toute sécurité pendant cette durée à partir du moment où il est ouvert, à condition d’être conservé dans de bonnes conditions (à l’abri de la chaleur et de la lumière).
